Tom Bogan has been a Partner with Greylock since 2004. Before Greylock, Tom was President and COO of Rational Software, an S&P 500 enterprise software company from 2000 until its sale to IBM in 2003. He previously had served Rational as its COO and General Manager of its testing business from 1996 to 2000.
Prior to Rational, Tom was President and CEO of two early stage technology companies that focused on networking and peripheral products – Pacific Data Products (1993 to 1996) and Avatar Technologies (1987 to 1993). Before Avatar, his background was in finance and he served as a financial officer in public and private companies as well as positions in public accounting.
Tom currently serves as Chairman of Citrix Systems (CTXS) as well as a board member of Oat Systems, Mazu Networks, and ClearForest and is a Board observer at Troux Technologies. He was previously a director of several public and private companies including eRoom Technologies and Meca Software. Tom graduated from Stonehill College where he currently serves as a Trustee.
For over thirty years, Don Casey has served the software industry in positions ranging from development to chief executive to chairman. He is currently chairman of the board for Mazu Networks and serves on the board of AspenTech. His other notable achievements include leading the turnaround of Wang Laboratories from a bankrupt, proprietary hardware vendor to a $3.5 billion services company. Don was president and CTO of Wang and directly responsible for Wang's US Services business.
Don previously served as Vice President of Lotus Development Corporation’s Spreadsheet Division, which at the time represented over 80% of the company’s revenue. He was also Vice President of Systems and Technology for Apple Computer, where he assumed responsibility for multimedia strategy and successfully planned and delivered the Quicktime product, now an industry standard. Don began his career at IBM, serving over 20 years and achieving the role of Vice President of Communications Hardware.
William P. Crowell is an independent consultant specializing in information technology, security, and intelligence systems. His previous experience includes serving as President and Chief Executive Officer of Santa Clara, California-based Cylink Corporation, a leading provider of e-business security solutions. Before Cylink, he held a series of senior positions in operations, strategic planning, research and development, and finance for the National Security Agency, ultimately achieving the role of Deputy Director until his retirement in late 1997.
In March 2001, the Secretary of Defense appointed Crowell to a federal advisory committee that conducted a comprehensive review of the U. S. Nuclear Command and Control System. Since 9/11 he has also served on numerous panels to improve the United States’ intelligence and security systems, including the Markle Foundation Task Force on National Security in the Information Age, which published two landmark studies on Homeland Security and information sharing.
In addition to serving on Ounce Labs’ board of directors, he is a director and Chairman of Broadware Technologies, an Internet streaming-video company; a director of ArcSight, Inc., an enterprise security management software company; a director of Narus, a software company specializing in IP telecommunications infrastructure software; and a director of RVison, a surveillance technology company. Crowell is a widely-recognized industry expert and has been quoted often in business press, trade publications, and on national television.
Raj is a co-founder of BlueStream Ventures and has worked in or with venture-backed technology startups for the past fourteen years. Prior to founding BlueStream, Raj was a research analyst at Thomas Weisel Partners where he led the firm's efforts in internet infrastructure software. Raj also spent more than six years in software research and development positions, including five years at Sun Microsystems.
In addition to Ounce Labs, Raj serves on the boards of Gearworks, Panta Systems, and Surgient. Raj holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School, an MS from the University of Pennsylvania, and a B.E from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science.
Justin is a general partner of Commonwealth Capital. Justin has 16 years of venture capital and operating experience in information technology industries. At Commonwealth Capital he focuses on enterprise software and infrastructure companies. Prior to joining Commonwealth, Justin was CEO of Object Design, a publicly held software company. Earlier, he was a vice president at Harvard Management Company, responsible for information technology venture investments, and a consultant with McKinsey & Co., Inc.
Justin is currently also a director of Soundbite Communications, Pragmatech Software, Antenna Software, and iVivity, Inc. He received an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Hugh Scandrett joined Ounce Labs as President and CEO after serving as vice president of development for IBM Rational. His responsibilities there included executive leadership and engineering management for the family of Rational products, which exceeded $750 million before the IBM acquisition. Prior to this position, he was vice president and general manager for software change management at Rational Software, leading the Rational® ClearCase® and ClearQuest® business units. During his tenure there, he helped drive substantial increases in market share, new channel development, and several highly successful product releases.
Hugh has over 25 years of experience in the enterprise software and telecommunications industries, holding senior product engineering positions at DSC Communications (acquired by Alcatel in 1998) as well as various software management and engineering leadership positions at Nortel. Canadian born, he earned his bachelors degree in computer science from the University of Western Ontario and began his career as a software engineer.
Jack Danahy is founder and Chief Technology Officer of Ounce Labs as well as one of the industry’s most prominent advocates for software security assurance. Prior to Ounce Labs, he founded Qiave Technologies, a pioneer in kernel-level security that was acquired by WatchGuard Technologies in October of 2000. Previously, Jack served as Managing Director of Engineering for BBN/Genuity's managed security services.
Jack is a frequent speaker and writer on information security topics and has been a contributor to the US Army War College, the Center on Law, Ethics and National Security, and the House Subcommittee on Information Technology. He is often quoted as an industry expert in trade press and has been featured in general press such as CNBC, CNNfn, the New York Times, USA Today, Business Week, and the Washington Post. He is a member of the DHS Task Force on Security across the SDLC. He is also a charter member of the Treasury Department's New England Electronic Crime Task Force and was a participant in the Homeland Security Information Sharing initiative at the Department of Defense. He holds patents or has patents pending in kernel security, secure remote communications, systems management and distributed computing.
